Team 1 Hits the Island

Hey ya everybody!

Sean Milan here from team 1. So our team hit the Island this week - Prince Edward Island! Everyone on our team is having a blast; P.E.I. has been so much fun. The most generous people ever! Everyone is so nice, and really excited for our being here. We have gone across the island at least three times, it's very small, but its funny because when we pull out the map it looks huge! We had the privilege of riding on a fishing boat; one of our host families took us out for a spin on the Atlantic. They let Rachel drive and she almost took us back to Ireland! Later, we went to the North cape, pretty much the most northern point of the island, it was the windiest place on earth! We also stopped by Green Gables, but Anne wasn't home.....

We have enjoyed awesome sunsets, gale force winds, and lots of great suppers, and celebrated Mass in a barn! Our Encounter Days/Nights have been going great. We have had the majority of our retreats at night, since there are no catholic schools out east, well, very few. But we love them, it's nice to change it up! We had a retreat for about 20 students who were all part of a youth group - it was a really great retreat, we had such a blast with them. They thanked us more than all of our retreats combined. P.E.I. has so far been one of the most fun provinces yet, but we still have a lot more to go!

So far we are the first team to hit the ocean (I think), and we are the first team to avoid snow, it seems like every time we leave a province, it begins to snow there. Well, stay tuned for next time when we will be in New Scotland, I mean Nova Scotia!

Until next time, God Speed!
