Massive Help for Massive Worship

I remember when I joined NET (06-08) one of the big sacrifices I had to make was leaving my cello behind, which is not a portable instrument. Music is a big part of my life, and I don’t know anyone who hates music. Whether it be rock, pop, emo, screamo, goth, oldies, indie, jazz, classical, or whatever, everybody likes music.

Massive Worship is NET Canada’s music ministry, and its mission is to “evangelize through music.” One of the newest ways we’ve been able to do that is by forming a team of passionate and experienced musicians who share the mission of Massive Worship! We call them our Massive Worship interns, or, the Massive Worship Team.

The Massive Worship Team begins their training in August and they kick-off their ministry in September. The team is setting up office next month, and we are in need of office furniture! If you have any extra desks or tables or any random office stuff, please contact me at the NET office. All help is greatly appreciated!

I will be heading up the Massive Worship team but I am currently in my home town Mankato, Minnesota, taking some time to be with my family and to get my immigration paper in order. If you could please pray for mewhen I cross the boarder that my work visa and other details will go through smoothly, I would appreciate it.

Ethan is in the Office!

Goo goo gaga, diaper rash, solid foods, these were just a few of the things that I and baby Ethan discussed in length when he and his mother, Renee joined us in the NET office today.

As some of you may know Renee and Mark Doyle (both former staff members) recently welcomed their first child, Ethan Joseph Doyle into the world, on Saturday June 27th at around 11:00 pm (Renee did most of the work). He weighed in at a mighty 8 pounds 13 ounces. Baby and mother are doing very well, but please keep them in your prayers.

Renee and Mark will be moving back to Australia this year where Mark will later be continuing his studies.

On another note I have recently begun a fast for recruiting. I began yesterday, Thursday, after Mass and had one small meal. And I have already felt the graces! Yesterday we accepted three women and I received an application from a guy! If you would like to join me in my weekly fast, (every Thursday) you are welcome to do so by following the Lenten guidelines. (either having one large meal or two small meal).

"...[T]he believer, through fasting, intends to submit himself humbly to God, trusting in his goodness and mercy."

I know that God will provide!

Welcome to the Official NET Canada blog!

Hello Everyone!

I'm very excited to launch the official NET Canada blog. It's our hope that this blog will serve to better help us, the staff, to keep in touch with you, our alumni, retreatants, host families and all of our supporters. Each week you can expect to see a new update as to what is happening with the ministry, which will include pictures and videos posts.

You can also follow us on Twitter as seen in the staff corner in the blog and get small updates as to what is happening with various staff members. You can also take part in our surveys.

Also make sure to check the blog and get updates on our recruiting efforts for the upcoming NET year.

God Bless
