Fall Training Commences, God is Good!

Hey y'all, it's Mairin- the American has made it successfully home in Canada, and I am so grateful to be back with my NET office family! Just as I returned, NET Ministry's fall training was about to begin, and on Wednesday it officially kicked off beautifully!
I was feeling a bit overwhelmed, as if I were in whirl-wind of emotions going from saying good bye to my family, enduring a 22 hour drive from Minnesota to Ottawa, and jumping into work and ministry again with the Massive Worship Team, who have been together without me for the past 4 weeks! But just last night I felt an amazing transformation, and God has been so faithful to give me what I need to lead and to love. Listening to the Massive Worship Team lead us all in worship stirred up in my heart a renewed passion and excitement for ministry, and I can only say that God is good and He has great plans for each of us, and for the thousands of youth these new Netters and Massive Worship musicians will encounter!

Today was the first full day we've had at camp, and it rained all day. Though, that didn't dampen any spirits! One of the great highlights of today was listening to some very talented and humble Netter songwriters belt out their creations, with no inhibitions, in front a gathering crowd of eager listeners. I love hearing the awesome talents of the men and women who come on NET every year, and it can only mean that the sharing of their gifts will produce a very fruitful year of ministry. Another highlight of the day was Matt Fradd's talk and testimony on Our Lady. He linked
Old Testament to New in helping us to better realize how incredible Mary is, how blessed we are to have a Queen Mother who intercedes for us and humbly points us to Christ, and he even challenged us to go to Mary by praying the rosary daily. Mary was the greatest evangelist and perfect disciple of Christ. We look to her as our example! Honoring Mary tonight was the best way to end another great day at training. Praise Him!

Fall Taining Next Week

Hey everyone! My name is Jocelyne Potvin and I am the newest staff member with NET. I will be taking over for Amanda Brisson as the new scheduling coordinator in October. I am originally from Brandon Manitoba and I served with NET for two years, one in Ireland and one in Canada. I have always been a country girl the transition to living in a big city like Ottawa is a little crazy, but I have always loved Ottawa and I am super excited to be living here now!

Music training just kicked off last week, with our new Massive Worship team (who are so amazing by the way, I heard them for the first time the other day!) leading all of the Netters in their music sessions. I trust that by the end of the two weeks we will have some amazing worship bands to lead us in music for our fall training!

Speaking of training...It's coming fast all of the staff are working hard to ensure that training is amazing and that all of the Netters feel welcomed. It is my first time behind the scenes and I must say lots of work goes in to putting training together, and I know that all of the Netters will love their time there just as much as I did my years on the road. I am so excited to meet everyone, I have been talking to a few girls that are going to be on the road this year and they seem amazing, so I can't wait to meet everyone else!!

Anyways that's all for now, hope you all are all loving life and having a great day!

God Bless

Wrapping Up Steubenville Atlantic

Awesome! Thats the one word that I would use to describes Steubenville Atlantic this year. There were many things that made the weekend at St. Francis Xavier awesome, one things that helped was the awesome praise and worship from the band. Most people were hesitant to sing or raise their hands but after the first day everyone was into it, which was powerful considering there were over 700 hundred youth attending.

While this was all great what was at the heart of weekend was the sacraments. On Saturday night when we had adoration, you could see and hear the Holy Spirit moving, as people began to cry. At one point while Fr. Zack Romanowski, from the Halifax Archdiocese, was processing with Jesus, everyone in the arena without prompting began to stretch out their arms, just trying to be closer to Jesus. It was a was a powerful evening. A big shout out to the prayer ministry team who had their hands full that night.

The other thing that inspired me was seeing the line ups for confession. I talked to one priests who said that hearing so many sincere confession was the highlight of the weekend for him. On Sunday before we all left one of the youth got up on stage and said "... Before I came to Steubenville I was convinced that there wasn't a God, but after this weekend I'm not sure about that anymore..."

"Above all" was the theme of this year and I can safely say that above all Jesus was proclaimed to the hearts of our youth! And my wallet is full of contact of people interested in applying for NET! If you could please continue to pray for our recruiting because we are not at our goal yet. I know we can do it with God on our side

God Bless
